E- and Smart-: Discourse of Selling, Promoting and Advertising Technology

With a growing and often over-saturated market for digital technology many businesses face a challenge of retaining and acquiring customers. A successful marketing campaign, which has become a vital part of introducing new products to the market, can help achieve this goal. In this bachelor’s thesis relevant materials from different communication channels have been collected and further analyzed in terms of various linguistic elements used in advertising. The analyzed materials possess distinct language properties according to what is their desired function. On billboards, posters and online banners, where short, concise messages fulfill their function of advertising a certain product, long, structured blocks of text would fail. And in a similar fashion, usage of short “catch-phrases” in official documents would be considered unprofessional. This bachelor’s thesis aims to outline and describe some of the linguistic methods used in marketing by gathering data and analyzing it.

Práce řeší tvobu emulátoru počítačové architektury se záměrem pro použití při výuce asemblerů. Zatímco většina dnešních emulátorů je zavislá na specifické architektuře, tato práce popisuje přístup, jak vytvořit emulátor, který by umožnoval uživatelům jednoduše vytvářet vlastní architektury, provádět nad nimi operace a zobrazovat jejich aktuální stav.

In its last part the thesis will contain the comparison of texts written for business purposes in different genres.

Za hranicí zájmu - geneze tvořivosti

Umělecká práce je do značné míry nahlížena holisticky - recipient vnímá celek díla, hledá jeho smysl, pokouší se o interpretace. Konečné znění je odtrženo tlustou černou linkou od své geneze. Ale právě pozorování vývoje myšlenky, konceptu, zpracování, případně metoda sama je povětšinou mnohem komplexnější zážitek než hotové dílo. Průběh mého studia, který je provázán třemi ateliéry, představující makroklimata svébytného uvažování o uměleckém postoji, smyslu i významu, mě motivoval k obratu pozornosti od díla k průběhu tvorby. Práci je možné chápat jako metakritický pohled na tvůrčí procesy, obalující dílo samotné, mezi kterými vzniká struktura podobnosti a jinakosti, kterou se budu snažit postihnout skrze textovou podobu ve formě gamebooku.

English as a Lingua Franca in Multinational Corporations: A Case Study of Everyday Communication

This bachelor’s thesis explains a phenomenon of English language as a lingua franca and its use in everyday communication in multinational corporations. The thesis consists of theoretical and practical parts. The first part describes the status of English as a global language and its use worldwide. It also explains the current position of English in the world based on the Kachru model of spread of English. The second part is devoted to practical use of English as a lingua franca in multinational corporations and considers three of the most popular genres of business communication. All analyzed materials are taken from internal communication within one multinational corporation.

Komentovaný překlad - technologie pro inteligentní domy.

Bakalářská práce se zabývá překladem textu v odborném stylu z českého do anglického jazyka a také lingvistickými náležitostmi spojenými s překladem. Byl vybrán text, který se zabývá problematikou technologií pro chytré domácnosti. Tento text byl přeložen do angličtiny a následně proběhla lingvistická analýza, která se zaměřila na jazykovědné náležitosti, např. termíny, akronyma, neologismy a kohezi. Tato práce odhalila spoustu obtížností, se kterými se překladatel může potýkat při překladu z češtiny do angličtiny. Většina těchto obtíží je spojena se zachováním původní myšlenky překládaného textu.

Nové verze skákajících automatů

Cílem této bakalářské práce je návrh a výzkum nových verzí skákajících automatů, konkrétně se jedná o verze obecných skákajících automatů s jasně specifikovanými kritérii směru a velikosti skoku. Práce zkoumá jejich sílu v porovnání s ostatními typy automatů a odhaluje ekvivalentní modely gramatik. Důvodem vypracování této práce je výzkum a snaha o vylepšení některých vlastností obecného skákajícího automatu. Následně je v práci zváženo využití tohoto formálního prostředku za účelem zpracování určitého typu jazyků a využití v průběhu syntaktické analýzy.

The purpose of semestral work is to understand what does “E-learning” means and where it comes from, to describe the history of electronic learning and research advantages and disadvantages of this kind of education. And finally get an answer for the question if E-learning is effective activity to learn languages? The work is devided into seven parts: defenitions, forms of e-learning, history of e-learning, advantages/benefits of e-learning, disadvantages of electronic electronic learning, an influence of modern technologies on the teaching process. The bachelor thesis is aimed at analyzing the work of representatives of e-learning. Description of the process of learning a language and the effectiveness of learning English through e-learning. Is it possible to learn a language with the help of electronic media and the Internet? This paper describes the process of learning English with the help of two electronic platforms. The first is a paid online school, the largest company studying English in Eastern Europe. The second part of the work is a free mobile application aimed at developing and learning English. The most popular application in the world in the online training section. information about companies, the history of creation and the principles of work used in the applications are presented in the form of a review of companies. Effectiveness of those companies and e-learning at all.

Vizualizácia často napomáha pochopeniu problému a umožňuje jeho rýchle osvojenie. Táto práca je zameraná na implementáciu simulátora zásobníkového automatu. Účelom tejto aplikácie je uľahčiť pochopenie tohto abstraktného stroja a jeho možností, poskytnutím vizuálneho návrhu a umožnením interaktívnej animácie algoritmu.
